Temperatures dropping to near normal with a chance for rain overnight
We’ll see highs today in the low 80s under partly cloudy skies. Clouds will increase into the night.
There is a slight chance for rain overnight into early Friday morning. Showers should clear in the first part of the day. Little rain accumulation is expected along 97, but the Ochocos could pick up a bit more. Clouds will progressively clear into the afternoon, leaving the rest of the day mostly sunny to partly cloudy for your Fourth of July plans.
Storm chances and rain showers will move east Friday afternoon, however some models have a pop up storm through portions of Southern Deschutes and in the higher elevation of Crook County that evening. Chances aren’t high but they aren’t zero.
I wouldn’t go canceling BBQ plans just yet, but make sure you have a plan in place should a rogue storm pop up. The last place you’ll want to be is floating the river or boating at the reservoir if a storm develops.
Highs will be in the 70s on Friday. The rest of your holiday weekend will be warm, dry, and sunny. Hot temperatures in the 90s return next week.
Have a happy Thursday!
