30th Annual High Desert Garden Tour happening this weekend
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) —This weekend, the OSU Extension Service is holding its 30th annual High Desert Garden Tour.
For $15, you'll be given a map and driving directions to several different gardens in Central Oregon where there will be events Saturday.
The tour is self-guided, and you can begin and end at any location you wish. If you see something particularly interesting, you can linger a while.
"It's always fun to watch attendees get excited about different and unique plants," said
Amy Jo Detweiler, professor with the OSU Extension Service. "Talk about ideas on how they can try something in their own backyard or in their container gardening on their patios or decks.
"And so just to see people get excited about different ideas in the garden, including not just plant material but techniques on how to irrigate, techniques on how to design something."
Master gardeners will be giving presentations at several of the stops on topics such as: What fruits can you grow here? and how does xeriscape? Tickets are $15 online on the OSU Extension Services website.
